WINNER OF UFC 117'S "BIG COUNTRY" VS JUNIOR DOS SANTOS GETS NEXT SHOT AT HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE

Dana White announced on Thursday's ESPN MMA Live that the winner between Ultimate Fighter season 10 winner "Big Country" Roy Nelson and heavyweight prospect Junior Dos Santos at the upcoming UFC 117 in Oakland California would get a title shot against whoever may be the champ after UFC 121 when current champ Brock Lesnar defends his title versus No. 1 contender Cain Velasquez.

(15-4) Roy Nelson is coming of a win, knocking out Stefan Struve at UFC Fight Night 21. (11-1) Junior Dos Santos is on a six fight winning streak, five of which were in the UFC including a win over the man who recently submitted Fedor Emilianenko, Fabricio Werdum at UFC 90.

UFC 117: Silva vs. Sonnen – Saturday, August 7th, live on Pay-Per-View from the Oracle Arena in Oakland, CA and  fight fans will be treated to a world championship showdown between middleweight title holder and pound for pound king Anderson “The Spider” Silva, and number one challenger Chael Sonnen. Silva has dominated the 185-pound division since 2006, but in Sonnen, he may be meeting the one man with the style and determination to unseat him from the throne.

Also in action, welterweight contenders Jon Fitch and Thiago "Pitbull" Alves square off in their long-awaited rematch,

and welterweight legend Matt Hughes takes on jiu-jitsu wizard Ricardo “Big Dog” Almeida.
